Laura has created the best ice cream in the world, ice cream so good she claims it's better than sex. The only problem is she needs a certain type of sugar cane to complete the recipe. She finds just what she needs in LeJeune's Louisiana Cane. The only problem is she has to make a deal with the owner Ryan LeJeune. She lusts for Ryan, but doesn't believe in mixing business with pleasure. She knows Ryan needs this deal for his failing business, but when he makes the offer of a lifetime, she can't refuse showing him up. Will she be the one in the end to admit she's wrong?

Ryan's business is failing because he let his younger brother take over, unfortunely his brother is more interested in chasing women than running the business. Now he needs this deal with Laura to put LeJeune's back on top. Ryan remembers Laura from high school, she was one of the smart girls and he wanted her even then. When she makes the claim that ice cream is better than sex, he just has to prove her wrong. Ryan issues a challenge that he knows she can't resist and the battle of wills begins.

Better Than Ice Cream is a good story if you want a laugh. Laura is determined to stick with her ice cream and leave men alone, by creating extraordinary ice creams; she gives pleasure to millions of women. Ryan is strong-willed and determined to prove her wrong. His single-mindedness for sex will have you laughing out loud. The sex does not come until later in the book and the focus is more on the build up of sexual tension then the actual act. When they finally do hit the sheets, its hot! Alicia Sparks has created a witty and funny book about the controversy on whether sex is better than chocolate or in this case ice cream. Her creative writing and memorable characters is sure to help her on her way to the top.
