| Matt forces Autumn to leave him when they were teenagers. Being a foster child, with no roots and no money, he believed that he wasn’t good enough for the town Mayor’s daughter. Within days, Autumn left for college. Years later, she returns to her hometown after her husband Court’s death to show everyone she lost her impetuousness and can be a good mom to her unborn child. Matt is a successful rancher now. After literally running into each other the sparks start to fly. Autumn should hate Matt for not showing to his best friend’s funeral, but Autumn isn’t the only one with feelings of anger.
I greatly enjoyed this story. It is a very interesting story that is full of emotions and phenomenal characters. Throughout the story, there are numerous emotional upheavals that will have you feeling everything Autumn and Matt felt. Matt and Autumns’ characters are genuine individuals that one could easily meet in real life. I just loved how they were able to push each other’s buttons. The support characters were exceptional. Autumn’s father has a very quirky personality. And Matt’s right hand at the ranch, Chip, will have you in stitches. I could not stop reading this story until the very end. It’s one of those books that grab your attention right from the beginning and won’t let go until it is done with you. Due to a fantastically written plot, your interest will not wane. Ms. Copeland sure knows how to pack a punch when it comes to the love scenes. They are full of heat and will get your engine revving very quickly. If you enjoy a book about past loves reuniting that is full of emotion and heat, this is definitely the book for you. What Lies Between Them will leave you hot and bothered and yet also very satisfied.
