| The Honeywell and Halestrom's family legacy dates back to the witch trials in the year 1695. Celia Honeywell was betrayed by her lover, Liam Halestrom, as a witch and was hanged. With her dying breath she placed a curse on Liam and his descendants. In so doing Celia also cursed her own descendents as well.
Luke Hale was a reporter for The World Today magazine; he is a descendant of Liam Halestrom. Luke was writing a story about the three hundred year old curse and the fact that the men in the Halestrom family seemed to drop like flies. Luke didn't put much stock in any curse, but it was strange that the men in his family all died unexpectedly at an early age. Bianca Honeywell is a genuine card-carrying witch. For years she's tried to find the way to undue the three hundred year old curse, with no success. Then Luke walked into her life and the sparks fly between them. Bianca finds she has more reason then ever to break the curse or risk losing a chance for true love. Luke doesn't believe in witches or curses, at least he didn't. Then Luke watched Bianca heal an injured dog and saw a purple glow surround her. For the first time Luke starts to believe. He is a confirmed bachelor, but one taste of Bianca's lips changes everything and Luke is faced with the possibility that the Honeywell curse is real. Unknown to Luke and Bianca, a dark shadow stretches over them. Someone else wants to break the curse and believes the only way to do it is to kill Bianca and end the Honeywell line altogether? Suzanne Marie Calvin has written a story with all the makings of a best seller. I found this story to be passionate, lively, and humorous as well as a bit mischievous. Bianca doesn't trust reporters; she's been there and done that, with devastating results. Luke doesn't believe in the curse or is he afraid he'll be its next victim? Miles and Fallon Frank, two more characters, help to add a little color and humor to the story. Once I started reading I just couldn't put it down. The town, the people, and the story will captivate readers of all ages. Ms. Calvin has done a stand-up job and I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future. I strongly recommend this book. Enjoy!
