Rachel sent Eric to prison for the murder of his father and her trust was shattered. It wasn't easy for her to sit in a courtroom and convict the man she loved, but she did and afterward tried to pick up the broken pieces of her life. Now she has a wonderful life with a wonderful man and plans another marriage in her future. Everything is perfect until the one man she thought she'd never see again reappears in her life.

Eric has been released from prison and changed his name to Derek. He has made a name for himself and has become very rich. One thing remains unresolved, the woman he still loves, the woman who sent him to prison. Finding out she was engaged to one of his employees was a stroke of luck. Forcing her to admit the feelings she still has for him and the fact that she made a mistake sending him to prison would be hard, but he knew her one weakness and planned to use it to his advantage. In the past they never failed to have an active sex life and shared a fondness for bondage. If Derek could get Rachel back into that position again, the sparks they always shared was sure to ignite.

This story was great, I just couldn't understand why Rachel, when asked about certain situations involving Derek, didn't just tell the truth. Instead she lied and got caught doing so, which made her look really bad. She was weak willed where Derek was concerned and despite the fact that she was supposed to hate him, when he put her in demeaning sexual situations, she loved it. Derek was very strong willed with a dominant personality. I think he could have done better in the ways he expressed his love for Rachel, although I must admit his bondage scenes made for interesting reading. If a romance with lots of spice is what you're looking for then Beyond Recognition is the book for you.
