| Who hasn’t dreamed of winning the lottery? What we could do with that big amount of money! Who could we help? Where would we go? How would it change our lives? Well, Marie Jordan got her chance to answer those questions! The day Richard, Marie’s husband of 20 years, lost his job, she bought a lottery ticket. The Jordan family, including teens Nicole and Bobby, were already barely making ends meet; this was the last straw. No job! But Marie won the lottery! Dreams do come true. However, it was several weeks before they received any of the money, so they had a long stretch of no money!
What a story! If you ever wondered how your life would change if you won a lottery, you must read this story. Friendships change. Relationships, even those in place for over 20 years, change. Children’s expectations change. What could possibly be wrong with winning $120 million? Ms. Tami Parrington is wonderful at portraying this family and the dynamics of losing a job and winning a fortune! I’ll have to say I’ve never thought of winning the lottery from this angle. Big Money is a look at the changes that go through not only the family who wins the money, but the friends, children’s friends and classmates, and even businessmen who deal with winners. Ms. Parrington has an excellent story-telling technique; she goes back and forth throughout the entire story weaving not only the Jordan’s lives, but also the Baxter’s around the acquisition of that BIG money! Who are the Baxter’s? Read the book and see. I guarantee that you will enjoy it. It is almost impossible to put the book down. Each time you think you have the story figured out, the plot thickens. And the clincher?!? I don’t believe anybody could have figured that out within sneaking a look at the end (which I did not!) This book is unbelievable and you definitely won’t be sorry that you read it!
