| Ramon and Tim have been working and living together for many years with Mrs. Bucket, a hyacinth macaw. They were perfect research partners and friends. Mrs. Bucket suddenly disappears and both are frantic to find her and bring her home. Sigh. They are both concerned about the macaw and about the grants they receive for their research with her so they eventually go to Brazil in search of her. Ramon has family there and handles all their travel arrangements.
Parts of this novel were very funny and others sad, but all in all G.R. Richards has written one heck of a story! Tim is a little awkward and Ramon seems a little shy but off they go to the wet Pantanal region of Brazil. This is where the story really breaks open for me. Tim meets Ramon’s aunt Miranda for the first time and just loves her. She really eases them (and us) into the Brazilian part of this novella. This is where all the hot action happens too. Keep in mind, this is one of the stories from the Postcards from Paradise Series and makes me want to travel to see this area. Even though Tim and Ramon have always had a platonic relationship, they start to learn much more about each other on this trip and during their hunts for Mrs. Bucket. I really loved aunt Miranda and great-aunt Yaritza with her 'man candy'. Ramon and Tim managed to get over their fears and other challenges to find love. I must say, my very favorite characters were Hercules and Mrs. Bucket. While this didn’t really start erotically, it sure ended that way! This was a fun read, very hot and left me with a great big smile on my face! G.R. Richards is a wonderful author!
