Four years ago her dad took her to her first Indian Powwow. Even though he's been dead four a few months now, Kit Lancer knows she has to go to this one. By going to the powwow she'll not only keep the memory of her father alive, but she has also has plans to give herself to Carter. Ever since they met Kit has like Carter and over the years of meeting at the powwow, the emails, and conversations she believes she's ready to take the next step. However, the gods have other plans for Kit Lancer as she finds herself thrust back in time and staring at an Indian that could pass for Carter's twin!

Born the second son of the shaman in his tribe, Atiko knows he can never marry. The responsibility of providing food for his family lies solely on his shoulders. He found the beautiful Kit right after a brilliant bolt of lightening forced him to his knees. Now she consumes his every thought. When his brother decides he will take Kit as his second wife, Atiko tries to do the honorable thing and leaves the village to prevent any further problems. But he finds out it's not that easy to turn his back on the woman he loves for the sake of his family.

Atiko and Kit are thrust together by circumstances and soon find themselves deep in love. But not everyone in the village likes Kit and lives and futures are soon compromised when another tribe comes to calm Kit which is now know as Spirit Woman so she can bring power to them.

I honestly have never seen an author mix the past and future together so easily. I didn't find one page that didn't contain some type of twist or turn for the characters in the book. The story was so descriptive with the Indian history and rituals and even though all the characters are unique they are all there for a specific purpose and fit extremely well together. A definite keeper for my shelves!
