| Although this is the second book in Ann Jacobs Lawyers in Love
series, it can be read and fully enjoyed independently from the
first.
Eight years ago, Andi Young and Gray Syzmanski spent 3 glorious nights together. They knew that they had found something special, but Gray, a DEA agent, had to leave their cozy bed and head to South America on an assignment, and he fully expected to return and pick up where they had left off. That did not happen. Andi spent eight long years trying to find herself a man that could live up to her one weekend with Gray. Seven of those years were spent raising their child - alone. For Gray, time had no measure, as he was living in hell, trapped and tortured in a South American prison camp. When Gray returns to Tampa, he isn't the same man as he left. He is battered, scarred, and frightened of what life will bring him next. Andi finds out that Gray is not only alive, but also that he has returned to Tampa, and she goes to tell him of their son. What has eight years done to their affection for each other? Will Gray allow himself to be a father? Can Andi convince Gray, that although he is scarred and disabled, that she and their son can accept him as he is now? Ms. Jacob does a spectacular job with Gray and Andi. Gray is such a 3-dementional character, with not only his obvious physical scars, but also his internal emotional scars. He is strong in so many ways and still so insecure in others. Andi is beautifully portrayed. She is loving and kind with a backbone of steel, and she makes it her mission to get Gray to accept himself as she accepts him. That in spite of his injuries he is a wonderful man that she and their son can love forever. This was such a beautiful story, about acceptance and growth, with a strong and loving sexual relationship between Gray and Andi. Definitely not to be missed.
