| Scientist were being murdered and PCB levels were off the charts so Sigrid was assigned to a EUFOR team in the Artic investigating and trying to keep the remaining scientist alive. Her job as a scientist was to find the correlation between the PCB levels and the murders. Bjorn and his team were ideal for the job, being bear shifters, but with the addition of Sigrid, he felt hampered having to take care of a human without revealing their special abilities. Sigrid soon proved her worth, both as a scientist and a mate, but not without much worry on Bjorn’s part.
I loved how Sigrid was a strong enough woman to handle the bear in Bjorn and Bjorn’s ability to love enough to step back and give Sigrid the space and trust she needed to accomplish her mission. Mary Winter has great style of writing that draws the reader into the story and makes you feel the emotions of each character. I believe there is one previous book in this series, but Bjorn’s Mate can certainly be read as a stand alone. Warning: There is one scene of M/F/M.
