New to the rural area, Reverend Nathan Andrews decided he needed to go up the mountain into the backwoods and meet some of his congregation he had yet to see. This was his first parsonage and he was inexperienced in ALL things spiritual and carnal! He had to take off his jacket early in his climb because of the heat; he was sweating and thirsty when he saw his first potential member of Grace Baptist Church.

Nathan was quite surprised and a bit in awe of the young girl he ran into; she was dirty, barefoot, and barely dressed. Her filthy dress left little to the imagination. He talked with her and found out her name was Grace, like the church. She was a beauty, but he had trouble visualizing past the dirt and grime. She offered him some blackberries she was picking.

Nathan’s inexperience was partially responsible for his actions that day. This book takes a look at the various actions from which our experiences teach us how to react to certain social responsibilities. These two young people are polar opposites yet each has something that drew the other. There are several other minor characters; however, this tale is primarily about their interactions that one day. It is a unique plot and Ms. Dee has presented it in an interesting way. She was an unknown author to me, but I will seek her work again. Kudos, Ms. Dee!
