Her father's death leaves Lucia deeply saddened. The man she thought she loved is less than sympathetic. Determined to visit the site of her father's death to get closure, Lucia decides to also finish her father's assignment. Capturing pictures of the black cougar that roams the mountains doesn't seem hard, but once there, it's easy to see why people aren't sure if the cougar exists.

Sam can't believe this woman put her campsite in the middle of a mudslide area. He can do nothing else but help her. Even if he isn't wearing a stitch of clothes. He saves her -- barely in time -- and discovers that she could be the one to break his curse. If she doesn't run from him screaming.

Sex and danger abound in this delightful tale. While part of the story left me a little annoyed, over all this is was a fun read. Lucia is a heroine that isn't too stupid to live. She made a mistake in her choice of campsite, but throughout the story she comes across as intelligent and caring. She also proves she can hold her own in a fight. I may even reread it to make sure I didn't miss anything earlier on that would have clued me in on the surprise twist.

There wasn't any point in the story where I could tell if the authors switched off or not. I liked that it flowed well throughout -- like one voice. The lore and characters in the story were captivating and entertaining. It would be lovely to read more stories set in this world and by these authors.

For an entertaining read full of steamy sexy scenes, deadly dangerous men, and a plot that will keep you reading, be sure to check out Black Cougar Curse.
