| Black swan is the story of Paulian, a tattoo artist and concerned environmentalist. One fateful night he meets Adek, a young man with a half finished tattoo of wings on his back and two deep scars across both shoulder blades. Paulian is smitten at first sight by the awkward grace of Adek, by his long neck, his white skin and his pale blue eyes. He wants to be the one to finish the tattoo. But if he does, he knows the black swan will fly away.
Black Swan is a beautiful and haunting tale. The author uses language wonderfully to weave powerful imagery. The tale is told all in one night, during a fateful encounter between two lost souls, Adek straining not to be held captive, Paulian struggling to accept he will have to let him go. The chemistry between the characters is instantaneous from the moment Adek walks past Paulian's shop door. The love scenes are tender and sensual and the descriptions of Adek as an otherworldly not-quite man are evocative. The end is a satisfying one for the reader and this novella is perfectly balanced in terms of length and story flow. Recommended for those looking for an unusual m/m love story.
