Chloe had been grieving for her lost fiancé Luke for years. She's finally decided to get on with her life and is engaged to be married. Unfortunately, she is still having vivid dreams of Luke and can't seem to get him out of her mind. This last one was really hot, and when she finally wakes up and sees her current fiancé, the blinders are off and she doesn't want him anymore. She's beginning to wonder if all she'll ever have left is her memories, and then Luke shows up. She can't believe that he's alive. Or is he?

Luke had been bitten by a vampire a couple years ago, and in order to save Chloe faked his death and tried to live without her. He can't help but visit her in dreams though, and unfortunately the one who made him has found out. She wants him to stop, or she will kill Chloe herself. Now he has to watch over her, and in order to do that he has show himself to her again.

Blessed Be started out terrific, and Chloe is a great character that is strong in her own right. It started to get confusing when Luke showed up, because at first he acted like he hated being a vampire, then he did an about face later. Chloe started out great, and then became somewhat unreasonable in the end, although I suppose she had reason to be. I couldn't sympathize with her, and that made it hard to like her for a while. The story line is great, and the characters had a lot of potential. I would definitely pick up another story of Ashley Ladd's, she has some very good ideas and I liked how the vampire society in her book was starting to shape up, it left me wanting to know more.
