| Azari is still a virgin at twenty-five years of age. While bathing at the waterfalls, she hears the roar of a large animal. As this animal sounds to be coming closer and closer she takes off running. Her flight takes her to a cabin in the woods, belonging to Tor. Tor is the High Priest, leader of all the priest and priestesses of the goddess Eiliki. After hearing Azari's story he knows what has happened. She has awakened the great beast that will stalk her due to her virginity. They will have to work together to stop the beast. The time spent together draws them closer to one another. This is a problem because Tor believes he is to love no one before the goddess Eiliki.
'Blind Devotion,' is appropriately named because of Tor's love of the goddess. The setting is a world where magic exists. Lucinda Storey does a wonderful job with describing the setting. The world's plants and creatures come to life for the reader. The people in the way they live, and why they have certain beliefs, are thoroughly explained. The dialogue is fluid and easy to follow. The story tells how people can misinterpret ideas, changing the original beliefs. Tor is dedicated and willing to sacrifice what he desires for his beliefs. Azari understands Tor and although she would like to be with him, loves him enough to let go. The romance is passionate and beautifully expressed. I feel that readers that enjoy romance based on fantasy will enjoy reading, 'Blind Devotion,' a love story that was destined to happen.
