In this story, we meet Xaviera Navarro and Ignatius "Nate" Ramirez-Santiago, two people who really want to forget everything and have at least one night of passion. Xaviera was, I guess attacked is too strange a description, but she was assaulted by her car's air conditioning hoses and is blind. Nate is a 'fire-jumper' and has managed to gain so many scars from his burns that women want nothing to do with him. The two of them seem to be struggling in their own little agonies.

Their date itself begins well. The two of them have been celibate for some time and really need to actually feel another human being. As per Nate's request, the lights were off since he didn't want his date to scream... pity him... leave.. and basically make him feel bad about himself. I'm not sure if he actually realized she was blind or not. There was a moment, or two, where the two of them argued, she turned the lights on and it went a little downhill.

These two really had incredible chemistry! Ms. Trace did a wonderful job of showing us what a challenge being blind is. I really liked her characters, Lucy the seeing-eye dog, and I think she handled the 'little altercation' from the beginning very well. I actually own four other stories by Ms. Trace, so I like her writing... I own ninety-four 1Night Stand stories and I've reviewed nine of them here (oh and this one makes ten) so I obviously like (love) this series. This is a good story, hot and is totally worth the read!
