Jack Roselli has never forgotten anything about the elusive and compelling Sofie. One romantic night brought them complete ecstasy. Now four years later, she returns with one surprising shock. Sofie Novakoff owns a bookstore, and lives with her daughter, Katya. The wonderful night she and Jack spent together, four years ago, was an experience that created a beautiful daughter. Sofie had been having a drink in the bar waiting for her friend who never showed. One look at the handsome towering guy had led to a couple hours of drunken sex. Now, she and Katya are being stalked, and she returns to Jack to confess the truth. As a cop, Jack knows not to play around when it comes to threats. Four years ago, and ten years on the Force, after making sergeant on the Bomb Squad, he had questioned the choices in his life, especially when a bomb killed his sister. He was certain it had been meant for him. When Sofie and Katya come to him for protection, he can’t turn them down. Sofie cannot bear the thought of losing Katya. To make matters worse, Sofie is caught in the middle when Jack’s girlfriend, Kim Barber gets involved. Sofie feels Kim is spinning tales and manipulating the situation. Jack argues Kim is not his girlfriend. When a bomb is left in her store, Sofie demands answers. All Jack knows is, the bombing at her store, and the one he is investigating appears to be somewhat similar, as he rushes to find the stalker.

With a well-orchestrated plot, strong characters and intense action, Blind Spot is a gripping read. I could almost share in Jack’s frustrations, not only trying to locate the stalker, but learning he was a father. The conversation that he shares with Sofie when they discuss Kim, gives even more practicality to the story. Lynn Romaine gives the reader an adrenalin rush that doesn’t stop until the conclusion. She seasons everything by adding a family into Jack’s life as he tries to accept Sofie’s news about Katya. She paints a dynamite read that shouldn’t be missed in this portrait of a family where the characters almost become real.
