| Joy has a problem: almost ten years ago she was raped and now has a
real problem with sex. Her therapist tells her that she needs to seek
a surrogate lover to help her get over her fears. Joy hates the idea
of sleeping with a stranger, so she asks her old friend Raphael to be
her surrogate. He left ten years ago and has been back over a year,
but still hasn't contacted her. Will he be willing to help her? And
if so, will she be able to walk away when their time is over?
Raphael has avoided Joy for over a year because he can't figure out his feelings for her. When she contacts him, he is surprised but pleased. He finds out that she was raped after he left and it has traumatized her sexually. She wants him to become her surrogate lover and help her to overcome her fears. Raphael wants to help Joy but fears his emotions becoming involved. If he does this for her, will he be able to let her go when the time comes? I really enjoyed this book because nothing is what you expect. I was a little upset over Joy's family's treatment of her after the rape. Raphael is dark and sexy with a sensual air that will curl readers' toes. Joy is a courageous woman trying to get over a very difficult time in her life. Readers will know that Joy and Raphael belong together from the beginning even though they fight it tooth and nail. The love scenes between them are romantic and erotic at the same time. KR Wilson has penned a great story of a woman finding the courage to take control of her fear and finding a love to last a lifetime.
