The wolf is gentle and Szeretni is quite taken with its beauty. After that encounter she begins to dream of a man and a wolf, her wolf prince. Matthias comes to her in the night and in her dreams. When they meet in the flesh, love quickly develops but evil still follows Matthias. Vlad is determined that Matthias shall never know happiness. Szeretni may be the cure to Matthias’s curse but now her life is in danger. It is up to Matthias to protect her but he must also protect others from discovering his secret.

Matthias was a fair and wise king but he makes a mistake. This mistake costs him much and he has made an enemy that will haunt him for centuries. Szeretni is a woman that is looked down upon due to her family history of madness. Both of these characters are at heart good. They both just want happiness and love. Due to events in Matthias’s past he finds it hard to trust. His mistrust will try to make a wedge between Szeretni and himself. Only their love will see them through all they must face together. They find themselves caught up in a web of evil as Vlad tries to tear them apart. Through a passionate romance these two are drawn together. More than anything else this story has a sense of history. Through the descriptive skills of the author the story plays out easily in the imagination of the reader. Magic, mystery, and suspense: this story is a thrilling vampire tale that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats as they await the ending. Blood Atonement by Sarah Saint John is a passionate romance as well as a thrilling paranormal tale filled with a sense of history. Blood Atonement is a fascinating story that I highly recommend to the readers.
