Blood Challenge is the second book in the Blood Line Series. It can be read independently from the first in the series, Blood Oath.

Dr. Ellie Adare, a social anthropologist, is very determined to win tenure and a chair at Columbia and studying the people of Corsova could get her there. She lies on her visa into Corsova, and by order of Corsova’s Queen she is unable to continue her study and must return back to Romania. But Ellie is not going to let such a little thing stop her from getting what she wants. She rents a plane from Romania and heads into the mountainous lands of Corsova. Her life will never be the same.

Ellie is rescued from her plane after it crashes, and with the pass closed off she is going to be staying a few months. This works great for her study, but Rica, the alpha male and leader of the Pack, is not happy with the outsider. His town and its lifestyle have never been open to outsiders and it is stuck in a time long passed - no electricity, very little plumbing, and old rituals. But Rica feels an attraction to Ellie that cannot be denied.

Will Ellie reveal her reasons for being in Corsova? Can Rica trust Ellie with the Pack’s secrets and ultimately his heart?

Ms. Tunstall succeeded in making a seemingly self-centered, goal oriented woman like Ellie flesh and blood. Ellie wrestles with her conscious in a poignant way. Rica is an alpha male through and through, but he has a vulnerability that is beautiful to behold. Together they create a true picture of relationships, and when you add in a few angry werewolves, a vampire, and an intense claiming ritual, you have a great book!
