| In this second book about Jane Yellowrock, skinwalker and vampire hunter/executioner, Jane is hired to hunt down another rogue vampire in New Orleans. Jane's best friend, witch Molly, and her two young children have come to visit her and put themselves right in the middle of a mess as Jane discovers that witch children are going missing and no one is doing anything about it. Then the unimaginable happens and Molly's children are kidnapped. Can Jane find them before they are sacrificed for some ancient vampire ritual and is this connected to the vampire she is hunting? Jane also can't afford to trust her usual allies because they have their own agenda and it may not be in Jane's best interest…
I love both the Jane Yellowrock books. This is one of the most imaginative series to come out in recent years. Jane is tough and yet vulnerable too. Her secret history and just what she really is make for a fascinating story line. I can't wait for the next book in this series; this is one of those series that the wait for the next book seems excruciatingly long... In Blood Cross, all of Jane's weaknesses and vulnerabilities seem to come into play and Jane may not be able to emotionally survive this. She is still torn between two sexy bad boys neither of which she is sure she can trust while she fights to stay away from the main leader of the vampire council who blames her for his son's death in the last book. Then Molly's children are stolen from her home on her watch and Jane is frantic to get them back. Not just for Molly but because they are important to Jane. And of course the evil bad guys are not slowing down their murderous intent and Jane must stop the rogue before more innocent people are harmed. This is a book I could not put down until I found out what was going to happen next. The action is non-stop, the danger ratchets up with each page, and Jane is stretched to the breaking point… I want more!
