| Dana has special blood that makes her irresistible to vampires. She was born of a father who was a healer and a mother who was a Vampire and that made her very valuable to whoever captured her. She'd been hidden and told not to use her gift for healing or vampires would sense her and come after her. She'd followed that advice, until one day she was confronted with a choice… use her gift to save a child or do nothing. Once she used her gift it was active, and vampires could sense her from a great distance. She tried running, but has gotten captured by Adrian, a killer who needs her blood to control his territory. When she meets Nicholas Grey, she's already been a prisoner and forced to give blood and be tortured. She thinks he's just another bloodsucker, but something seems to be drawing her too him whether she wants him or not.
Nick is appalled when he sees what is going on. He's a powerful vampire himself, but he has sworn to never use people the way that Dana has been used. He's been sent to rescue her, but will she trust him enough to get out? The chemistry between Nicholas and Dana is undeniable, and even though they have a lot of problems to get through, you can't help but hope that Dana will be able to trust him. I liked that she was a strong person and didn't give up without a fight, or instantly fall into Nick's arms. The story is rather violent when Dana gets captured, so it's not for the faint at heart. By Blood's Decree is definitely one story that you shouldn't miss.
