| Destiny St. George is a private investigator and a lion shifter. She and Yasmine, a wolf shifter were both left on the steps of the St. George Orphanage as infants and consider themselves sisters. Said sister is marrying the Alpha of the local Pack and she is the maid of honor. She is happy for Yasmine, but does not see the same thing happening for her. Her once significant other, the local vampire leader, is not the one woman type and she was tired of being one dish in his rotating buffet. A missing persons case brings her back into Marcus Smythe's orbit and he is determined to get her back in his life. Someone from his past will try to use the relationship to destroy them both if he is able.
This is a gripping paranormal romance with unique and interesting characters and a great plot. There is action and suspense aplenty and I was at the edge of my seat for much of the story. I loved the relationship between Marcus and Destiny. They are both strong characters, reluctant to bend for the other, but it is obvious that they are in love. The love scenes are very well written. The missing persons case adds suspense and danger to the plot as well as telling the reader a bit more about the very sexy Marcus. I also like the subplot of Yasmine's upcoming wedding and Destiny's efforts to cooperate. The two girls from the orphanage have done very well for themselves and managed not to lose the sisterly relationship formed in the orphanage. I can't wait to read the next installment of this series.
