Fate is an artist who is just beginning to be known in the art world. In her world, there are the Embraced and then there are humans. She's heard of another race that feeds on humans through dreams called the Dominion, but she isn't sure she believes in that because no one has ever seen them. The Embraced are vampires, and within their ranks there are different levels, almost like a aristocracy. She is intrigued by them, but because she isn't marked to become one, there is little chance that she will have any contact with them. At one of her art shows, she meets Gabriel, an Embraced who runs the territory she is in. She instantly falls in lust with him, but is sure that he will never notice someone as plain as her.

Gabriel can't wait to meet Fate at long last. He's been watching her ever since they've discovered that she can dream walk and fight the Dominion, even as a human. Even though she isn't marked, Gabriel is concerned that the Dominion may try to attack her. After five years, he finally thinks that she may be safe, and is able to meet her face to face. The the unthinkable happens, and Fate is attacked on her way home and Embraced by a rouge vampire. Will she be able to go through the transformation and become fully Embraced?

Blood of the Raven brings a host of fascinating characters that I would love to see more of. Gabriel and Fate have a chemistry that can't be beat, and the sex in the story is sizzling hot. Fate has had some serious issues to overcome, and she has done it with a strength and determination that make her a great character to read about. Gabriel is a great lead man, he doesn't want to love any one, but can't seem to stop caring for Fate. The secondary characters are almost as interesting as the first; I can't wait for Niccolo to get his own book, and Charlie and Adam were pretty fascinating too. I really enjoyed reading this story, and I can't wait for the next one in the series to come out.
