| August's brother Tommy was brutally murdered, and the one man who can possibly identify the killer has been on the run since that night. He's close to catching up to Bruce, and then hopefully he'll be able to catch the murderer before he strikes again.
Every night Bruce relives the night that ended his childhood. On the run since then, he's fought hard with booze and drugs, to silence the memories, but to no avail. When August finds him, Bruce realizes who he is, and panics. This man will make him remember things he doesn't want to. Well written and fast paced, Blood Pond and its characters will pull you right in and hold you fast. The desire to see if August can keep fighting his desire for the younger man is almost as great as the desire to find out who the killer is, and if he can be stopped. DJ Manly is an excellent author who knows how to capture the audience and keep them reading for more. The whole book is paced excellently, until the conclusion. Then it reads rushed. Also, some of the love scenes between August and Bruce didn't lead me into thinking they had tender feelings for each other. More like an unsatisfied hunger. Other than that, this was a fabulous read! Tortured heroes deserve to have a happy ending, but during the course of this book, between the killer and other events happening, you wonder if it is even possible for there to be a happy ending. Or at least an ending. I wasn't surprised as the events unfolded, and I was thrilled to find some of my suspicions proven correct, but I think the ending will catch most everyone off guard. I have to know if there is going to be another book with these characters. I want to read more!
