| In Romania to conduct research for her doctoral thesis, Elizabeth Silk listens to all the local legends and folklore with a skeptical ear. The only legend that captures her interest is that of Saloman, an ancient prince who, according to legend, is the most powerful vampire of all. Her academic mind is challenged and her soul in danger when legends come to life and enemies gather to rid the world, once again, of Saloman's deadly bloodlust. Elizabeth finds herself in a position she never imagined she would be in. Will she choose to follow her mind? Or will she bend to will of her body and heart?
Being a fan of this author, I arrogantly went into this book expecting a great story. What I got was an exceptional story. Ms. Treanor's story starts off with a heavy dose of intrigue and pulls the reader along on a suspense-filled ride. The lead characters were perfect, particularly the hero. When you're dealing with a legend, the character has to live up to the hype. Saloman did live up to the legends and the secondary characters were rather good too. The setting was established nicely without sounding like a travel guide and the story moved along at a nice pace with an ending to leave readers wanting more. There are some spicy scenes too and the sensuality worked perfectly in fleshing out Elizabeth's fascination with Saloman. Blood on Silk is the first in the author's Awakened by Blood series and I personally am looking forward to the rest of the series after this impressive debut.
