| Lizbeth has run home to the small town in Arizona where she grew up and bought a bar. She used to have an important corporate job in Phoenix, but an attack by a stalker who was never caught sent her running home. Her childhood friend Tom has also returned to Allbright after being injured while in the service. He is now a police officer and takes his job very seriously especially in regard to Lizbeth’s safety. He is no longer the shy skinny boy she remembered but a well muscled mature and sexy man. Lizbeth is afraid of relationships at the moment, but might make an exception for an old friend. The stalker’s return turns things up a notch.
The chemistry between Tom and Lizbeth is evident from the beginning of the story when a drunk harasses Lizzie in her bar. Tom is still quiet but no pushover. The author has created a truly sexy hero here. They obviously have feelings for each other that have nothing to do with sharing toy cars and the drunk’s harassment and the stalker’s return give Tom a reason to take the relationship to the next level. The characters themselves are likeable and well described, the love scenes scorching, and the suspense will leave you on the edge of your seat.
