As the title suggests, this is the second book about Gaven and I would advise readers to check out the first book before this one.

Gaven is now Vlar's trainee in all things from battle skills to the bedroom and he is learning in all areas even if he does want to hate his teacher. There is something special about the relationship building between Vlar and Gaven. Despite his hopes, Vlar is unsure what it means and asks for his father to visit.

Disaster strikes and Vlar is seriously injured and Gaven kidnapped. Things start to change for Gaven after his rescue by his father. Their relationship improves and when he learns how badly Vlar is injured, Gaven realises what his relationship with his tutor really means to him.

Gaven has matured since we last saw him, although his past still affects him. I have enjoyed this second episode of Gaven's life. His relationship both with Vlar and his father changes dramatically during this story and it's nice to see him happy. Gaven's kidnap is a traumatic time in his life and some readers may be upset about the suggestions made by his kidnappers. But I thought the author handled the situation realistically with tact. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves M/M stories containing real warriors with warm hearts.
