| Julliet has learned throughout her life and profession as a prostitute that men are not to be trusted. Her father betrayed her, and the men she has met since have betrayed her. When she sees Dragen for the first time, she is instantly on guard. He's one of the Shoni, her people, and that alone would cause her to distrust him because of what her father had done to her. When things start happening to her charges in the brothel, she has no choice but to turn to Dragen for help, and gets more than she bargains for.
Dragen is stunned when he walks through the door of the Healing Waters Brothel and sees Julliet. He knows that she is his mate the minute he sees her. But she doesn't know much about their people, and refuses to accept that they could be bonded. He's got a lot of convincing to do, and when people start to die, he worries that she might be next. Bonds of Justice 3: Dragen's Fire is a great story, but you will definitely enjoy it more if you have read the first two books in the series or you will be a little lost sometimes. I have read them a while ago, and was sometimes wondering about certain characters along the way and had to refresh my memory. I would have liked to have known more about the Shoni culture, it wasn't really explained very well and it sounded intriguing. Julliet has been through a lot in her long life, and is unwilling to trust after her many betrayals. While something about Dragen calls to her, she wants to ignore it. Dragen will have none of it, and is very protective and patient with her. I liked both characters, and thought the story was different from your normal run of the mill love stories. I enjoyed reading about Dragen and Julliet, and only wished that I could have found out more about them. Give Bonds of Justice 3: Dragens's Fire a try, you won't regret it!
