Sam Nielson, Gil Gates and Nick D’Amato have been lovers at one point in their lives. As police academy students they were a ménage. Now Nick has settled into a committed relationship. Gil is a captain and Sam’s ex lover has hired a surrogate to have his baby. Sam doesn’t want kids or more than the casual sex that’s prevalent in New York City. Special Investigator Bobby Rodriguez just may make him change his mind.

Jamie Hill gives us a well crafted tale of friendship, suspense, and romance for three fortyish policemen. There’s plenty of humor mixed with old fashioned police work as the men track a killer through the exotic sexual haunts of New York. Bobby and Sam have an instant attraction but only time will tell if Sam will be willing to be the type of submissive partner Bobby is looking for. Ms. Hill keeps it interesting as Sam sees the hard core version of dominants with their submissives during the hunt for a murderer. She keeps us guessing as Sam’s attraction to Bobby wars with his fear about giving up control to anyone. This is a well done, easily read tale of male bonding.
