A great fog has settled over the inhabitants of TERAH. The old ways have been forgotten and evil has stealthily taken root. Samanthra Lampir is the High Priestess of her people and as such she is determined to recover what has been lost, though even she doesn't know exactly what that is. Samanthra must forge her way past hidden dangers, overcome dire ancient prophecies, and recover precious stolen memories in order to achieve her destiny. Dareus Dracura is that destiny. Locked away and imprisoned for an excruciating amount of time, he returns to find his realms under siege and his lands shadowed under the oppressive darkness of evil. He is the Father of the Blood, true leader of their people, and Samanthra's lost soul mate. Together she and Dareus must find each other again and defeat the evil threatening to destroy their world.

I had a difficult time beginning this book. It was overwhelming in its opening layout with too much information given too soon. After reading more into the book though, and going back to the beginning a couple of times, it all came together. If I had to use one word to describe the book it would be fantastic! The imagination used was just amazing. I loved the fantasy world the author painted. There was a great variation in supporting characters and the development of the background. The world and its inhabitants was just wonderful. I absolutely loved it! The ending however... Let's just say it left a lot to be desired. In fact, it was infuriating. There better be a sequel in the works and FAST! As we all know, an ending can make or break a book. With a sequel, this could possibly turn out to be one of the best stories I have had the pleasure of getting involved in in a very long time and will land C.H. Scarlett on my faves list. There is just so much potential here! Great job!
