After reading this book, I found myself shaking my head at the audacity of the male leads. But then the men in this story are from a world of the past, when villages were pillaged and any women were theirs for the taking. I have to Adrianna credit for standing up to the King and his men, especially the man whom he had given Adrianna to as a gift. Adrianna soon found that speaking her mind meant a taste of the lash, or public humiliation. And they knew a great degrading way to do it, believe me. Kaden was happy to finally have the gift long promised to him by the king, and having Adrianna within his reached made his hellish existence more bearable. Trapped within a prison by a wicked witch who was pissed at him for not returning her advances, Kaden and Adrianna found comfort from the bond that grew between them. While they searched for a way to overcome so may obstacles in their way, I have to give credit to Kaden for his willingness to make Adrianna's life as bearable as he could, while teaching her the ways of his people. Ms. Stone weaves a story so compelling and unique that the read will find herself transported to a long ago era and will gain an appreciation of how the past and present are blended together. Full of magic, adventure, and lots of hot sexual escapades, this story will keep you spell bound until the end.
