| Braden is one of the Shareem, a genetically superior race created for sexual pleasure. In fact, as a level three, Braden is a master, literally, of the sexual arts. He may have met his match though when he's sent to find out secret information to help the Shareem and meets the sexy celibate librarian. So even if he gets the chance to fulfill his librarian fantasies with Elisa, can he really risk death just for touching his celibate? And more importantly, can he risk the future the Shareem are fighting for?
Ah, I love the Shareem, and this sixth book in the series doesn't disappoint. Somehow Ms. James manages to keep this series fresh and each book not only has wonderful individual characters who you meet and whose story we hear, but they also move the entire Shareem story forward. That said, you can read this book as a stand alone story. But there will be a few things mentioned from previous stories and some back story that is a bit confusing. Ms. James does do a good job of explaining if you haven't read the series, but I'd bet that after reading this book you'll have to go and read the rest. In some ways Braden is facing the same issues as the Shareem in the previous books. However that's really only because of the fight for their rights that the Shareem as a whole are facing in this world. Ms. James is very good at giving each set of main characters their own very personal story. Elisa is dealing with the challenge of whether her reasons for taking her vows of celibacy are still valid after meeting Braden. He's left with the struggle of his new found feelings and how to keep Elisa safe from the those who don't believe the Shareem should exist, much less live real lives. You really couldn't pick a more enjoyable book to while away a few hours with!
