Alex is the captain of a very special crew that had volunteered for a mission in space that they knew would separate them from their loved ones forever. Alex and her crew are going to explore the outer reaches of space, using a new type of propulsion system. They would only be gone two years, but because of the special system when they returned it would be 15,000 years in the future. When they came back and finally hit an area that they can receive transmissions, they got a shock…

Breeding Ground is an excellent piece of science fiction romance I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Alex is a strong woman, who is capable of dealing with what is thrown at her just like any other commander. I loved how she was portrayed, a great leader, but human as well. She has plenty of surprises and difficulties to deal with, and had nightmares that give her some warning of what is coming, but it doesn't stop her from dealing with what the world throws at her. Her crew is a great bunch of guys, and they all go through a lot. Malik, her lover, is an intriguing mix of arrogance and neediness that made him very likeable. When Alex and Malik get together they sizzle in bed, there is some pretty lusty scenes. I love science fiction romance, and this one has enough spice to keep me happy. It's definitely one I had a hard time putting down, and I recommend it!
