| Brennus is a vampire witch who is angry when he finds that someone has put a love spell on him. He quickly finds out that it's one of his student's relatives, Darien. When he meets him to demand the spell be removed, he's surprised to find that Darien has an old soul in him. It's his old nemesis Vortimere, who had tortured and killed Brennus when he was still human. Brennus would do anything to get rid of him for good, regardless of the consequences. Then he finds himself falling for Darien...
Darien decides to help out his sister when she asks for a love spell. After all, it can't work unless the object has feelings for the person who is the object of the spell anyway. He's sure it's harmless, until he meets the object of his sister's affections and realizes that he has bit off more than he can chew. This was an interesting story, although I thought that the characters were a little flat. There is a lot of M/M sex, and this is definitely a love story between two men. Brennus finds himself unaccountably attracted to Darien, whom he thinks is his former tormentor. Darien returns his affection and tries to find a way out of being killed because of the old soul his body houses. I had a hard time understanding whether or not Darien was possessed, or he was actually Vortimere reincarnated. It was sort of answered in the end, but it still confused me a bit sometimes in the story. There is a pretty violent scene of forced sex in the book, so be warned. Brennus' Witch is a different kind of love story that keeps you interested and reading until the end.
