| Zoe Hillman was in love with her best friend, Alex King. He was also her boss. She sat at her desk on Christmas Eve submitting her resignation because she couldn't work for him after he married his fiancé tonight. Surprisingly, he and his best man friend, Tommy Dunne, came through the door so she hid under her desk. He had been left at the altar. Alex vowed to marry the first woman he saw. That was Zoe—including her extra 150 pounds! He was so drunk he didn't question her or his motives. Tommy encouraged it—all the while laughing under his breath.
Christmas morning, when Alex woke up with Zoe in bed with him, he was horrified. He couldn't remember last night, but Zoe had a matching wedding band on her finger. He couldn't believe it wasn't a joke. He needed a “package” to promote his career as a partner in his law firm. He was furious with Zoe and Tommy. Zoe left him in tears and told him she never wanted to see or hear from him again. The marriage was annulled. Five years later, he was again about to marry on Christmas Eve...to another “package.” When his mother hired a caterer for the reception, she had no idea it was Zoe. She realized even though Zoe had been married, her triplets looked just like her son Alex. Ms. Dyann Love Barr has written a poignant, emotionally charged book about a woman who learned from her mistakes. I can actually visualize the happenings in this book. It was so realistic that I couldn't put it down. This full length novel had all the essentials to make it a winner. I don't believe I've ever read Barr's work before, but I will. The sensuality was flowing throughout the book. It was attention-grabbing and sweet. The characters were so perfectly written that it was as if I stepped into the storyline. The actions were fast-paced, but were credible. This is the first of a series of three books. I plan to read the others as soon as possible. I loved this book and encourage all to read it. Great job, Ms. Barr!
