| Gina Montgomery has taken a vow of celibacy after a traumatic childhood and wild teen years. She's been able to live with it for ten years. Will she be able to stick to it after meeting a rodeo cowboy who exceeds all of her expectations? Holt Reynolds wants to win the National Rodeo Championship. He's worked hard at it for years, coming close but never winning the prize. This may be his year. Will love step in and get him to stray from his focus on bronc riding?
Paty Jager pens what will probably be an intensely emotional ride for readers. Learning about Gina's childhood experience is likely to stir anyone up. Some readers may judge her actions as a teen and the vow she makes. Too extreme? Jager makes it easy for us to relate to her experiences whether or not we think she makes the right choices. For a writer to make us care about the people we're reading about is a gift that helps make them and their books special for me. From feeling like part of the 'in' crowd at the rodeo to enjoying Holt's ranch, there's a lot of good things that make this book a great read. The characters all become human with their frailties, evil, special ways and all that makes them live on the pages and in our mind. Everyone who has a man like Holt will feel special and those who don't may just read it again to enjoy him more. From an empty feeling to a chance to fulfill your dreams is as wild a ride as any in the rodeo. Jager does this one just right.
