| War veteran Travis McRayne was in Boston housesitting for his gay brother who just got married. On his last day there, his brother Elliot takes him out to dinner to say thank you. At the restaurant, Travis is introduced to Vincent Clark. From the minute their eyes meet, they are attracted to each other, but Travis is going home to Alabama. On a whim they exchange phone numbers and begin a long distance relationship. As with any long distance relationship there are many problems and theirs are no different. Can Travis and Vincent overcome differences and distance to have a life together?
I really enjoyed Travis and Vincent's story. This is part of a series and while you do not have to read the other books to enjoy it, it is nice to see the characters from previous stories. This was a touching story about two men who find acceptance and love with each other that they could not find anywhere else. The lead characters are both fighting their fears and insecurities to be together, the author brings this out with a witty and smart dialogue between the two men especially Vincent who can be a bit of a queen, but who is in no way dumb. I liked how people tended to underestimate him because of his feminine quirks. I thought it was wonderful that the author took the character of Roddy who was thoroughly unlikeable in the beginning and made us feel empathy for him and the circumstances he finds himself in. I hope she writes his story next, I would really like see things turn out better for him. There is a lot of steamy sex between and Travis and Vincent, so if you are not a fan of m/m sex this will be a difficult read for you even if it is a great story. I hope to read more great stories from this Ms. Blue.
