| Officer Steve Pax meets Finn at the hospital while Finn is trying to get someone to tell him how his ex-boyfriend is doing after a car accident. When Steve learns none of the family will speak with him because he is gay, Steve tries to help. When Steve tells Finn Mario is dead, he is also torn between wanting to comfort him or walking away and leaving Finn grieving.
This is one of those stories that are great to read when you have a few minutes to pass and do not want to get into a really in depth story. The plot flows smoothly if a little bit slowly, which does make it feel longer than it is. The character of Steve is more complicated than Finn, because his feelings are more conflicted as to what the right thing to do is. Finn is a bit more direct in how he feels about things. This is a m/m story and there are some sexual situations but nothing too detailed and it fits in well with the story. There is more innuendo than actual sex in the book which adds to the erotic essence of the story. If you like stories with a lot of angst this is the story for you.
