Ethan Searle and Autumn Reader both have a past that may keep them from having a relationship. Even though they have an instant attraction he’s handicapped by a past relationship more debilitating than the accident that crippled his legs. She narrowly escaped from her first husband. Charming at first he’d become more and more abusive. If they don’t learn to trust one another the attraction they feel may go nowhere.

Cami Checketts has given us a storyline that is filled with the pitfalls that often sink new relationships. Over and over two people trying to show their feelings end up thinking they can read one another’s mind. And over and over she shows how important real communication is to any relationship. Of course, it helps if you have matchmaking mothers and friends who refuse to let you give up. Or a precocious two year old who often pushes you into communication even if it is just to try to backtrack away from the secrets she gives away! Not everyone has that but this well crafted tale makes us glad Autumn and Ethan do. Otherwise these great people might never get together!

Ms. Checketts fills this story with excellent dialogue and situations that made me glad I had a whole box of tissues handy. Whether I was laughing until I cried or just relating to the pain and frustration life has given these wonderful people I really needed them! Ms. Checketts is a gifted storyteller and this book a great one.
