Note: There is a section in this book that involves the harming/killing of children. If you find this offensive in any way this book may not be for you. I am not condemning or condoning it, I am just noting this as a courtesy for you the readers.

Long ago it was said, that all the evil winged Vultures, the follower's of Cinder, were annihilated.

Cinder was sent down to the fiery depths of the Seven Hells forever. Darkness has again seeped out of the pits of hell to rear it's ugly head on the peaceful winged clans. Cinder has risen again in the form of the Vultures and their follower's the Human Elitists. The senseless killing of women, children and warriors has started all over again. The nightmare has begun.

King Dearn is the ruler over all the winged clans. He is of the White Lance Breed. Their light eyes and pure white wings makes them majestic and regal. They epitomize beauty in its purest form. They are glorious to look upon and watch fly. He represents all his clans with a gentle but firm hand. King Dearn believes a man's word is his honor. He must now face the truth that the Vultures are not extinct, as first thought, but have come to take what they think should have been theirs, and kill as many of the gentle winged clans, as possible.

Matte, a tough Bastard Breeds warrior, has returned home from exile with her half-brother Edgar to help him with his plan of revenge on the their archenemies. What Edgar does not know is that Matte is not really on his side. Edgar had raped Matte at the tender age of sixteen. One day Matte gets a glimpse of King Dearn when he is in the air flying; she is in awe of his powerful warrior body and graceful white wings in flight. Maybe all the things Matte has been told about the other winged clans are not true. They only way she could truly know is to confront King Dearn.

Broken Wings is a moving tale of love that will bring tears to your eyes. Ms. Leigh is known for her highly erotic style of writing, but this book show us another side of Ms. Leigh's writing talent that is breathtaking. It whispers of sensual dialogue. The sexual attraction between Dearn and Matte grows stronger as the story progresses, tightening and drawing them together. Ms. Leigh's descriptions are vivid enough that you can almost fly along with the characters in this story and feel the wind sweeping beneath their wings. This Fight of fantasy ascends above all others. This reviewer highly recommends this book!
