Anne is dissatisfied. She loves her husband, Mike, and knows he loves her, but their sex life, which consists mainly of the old three-minute huff-n-puff, has become mundane and boring. On the night Mike forgets their anniversary, Anne finds herself a little drunk and perusing a magazine mistakenly delivered to their home. Between the pages of Wanton, Anne finds all the information and toys a woman could ever need to revitalize a flagging lover. Placing an order, Anne prepares to do whatever it takes to force her husband to see his inattention is ruining their marriage.

This is not a standard romance, but an explicit, sly, snarky, often humorous account of a woman taking control of her sex life and demanding her husband meet her needs. The story alternates between Anne’s situation and the Tending your Garden column of Wanton Magazine, where Mistress Paige gives explicit and ruthless advice on how to get your husband on the right track.

While I enjoyed the story, I thought Mistress Paige’s columns, amusing as they were, actually took up too much space. I personally would have preferred to see more of Anne and Mike’s journey explored. The advice columns tended to break up the narrative, slowing the pace of the central story. Anne’s route to 'waking' Mike up amused me, as did the entire book, and I found it a fun, short read.
