| Mark is hesitant to fall in love again. Suffering from constant nightmares and taking care of a parent with Alzheimer's was too much for his ex to deal with. Still smarting from the rejection, he's not going down that road again. Meeting Gabe, an orderly at the retirement home where his father lives, is giving him second thoughts. Gabe seems like a solid guy and very interested in a relationship. Will Mark take a chance on love?
Buried Treasure is a nice read. Not too dramatic but lively enough to keep you engaged. The two main characters clicked and the story stayed on point. The author dealt realistically with the Alzheimer issue, didn't dwell on it, just addressed it within the context of the story. A good back story on both of the protagonists was more than adequate for a short story. The transition of Mark being a client to becoming his lover was believable so the pacing worked. I applaud the author for not prolonging the nightmare sequences. Although it was a main part of the premise, it didn't become tedious. I liked the tender loving care Gabe gave to Mark after one of his nightmares. It was the epiphany moment of the story. A interesting read with a lot of heart.
