Ethan McCafferty has been in love with Marisa Carter for two years. First she was married to his best friend, now she seems to want nothing to do with him. Andrew, her ex, has filled her mind full of stories about Ethan that make Andrew seem like a saint in comparison. Still, she wants him for her charity calendar of hot fireman. How bad could it be?

Lynne Logan does a good job building two people willing to withstand the ups and downs of life and feelings to find what counts. Like a fireman looking for the source of a fire, Marisa has to find the source of her mistrust of Ethan. Her best friend Jenny doesn't seem to believe the stories Andrew told her about Ethan. She's in his corner all the way as Marisa fights the feelings she has for him.

Ethan has patiently been waiting and hoping for two years. He's used to being patient, in his life rushing things could get him killed. It's special when an author can write about a man's unquenchable love for a woman. Marisa is confused, frustrated and ashamed when she finally finds out she's been lied to for years. Her husband is even less a man than she gave him credit for.

I'm not a lover of violence but there's something really satisfactory when Andrew goes down for the count at the end of a fist. This is as hot as the title indicates and a fun read.
