| Byron, a young vampire just over a century old, is the most powerful and respected Hunter the Council has ever seen. It is the duty of a Hunter to find and kill rogue vampires, werewolves and other shifters who have turned feral and started killing humans. It is a dangerous responsibility, one that has taken many lives. When his best friend is killed on a hunt, Byron promises his dying friend to raise his infant daughter. He promises to make her happy and give her anything she desires.
Kit, an Inherent, a shifter able to take wolven form, has known for the past six years that Byron is her soul mate. Her mother died during childbirth, her father was killed by a hollow bullet filled with wolfsbane during a hunt. Byron raised her from an infant in his enclave, but from the time she turned eighteen, Kit has known the vampire is her true mate. The problem is convincing the stubborn vampire. Byron is determined to ignore the fierce hunger he feels for Kit. After returning from college, she joins his enclave of hunters against his will, but with the blessing of the Council. He hopes to drive her away by arranging for Kit to see him having sex with other women. He needs to make her leave the enclave before the dangers of the hunt get her killed. Before his overpowering lust makes him claim her as his own. The Hunters: Byron and Kit, by Shiloh Walker, is a short but powerful story of destiny and the clashing of two strong wills. This is an author that consistently delivers. A must-read for any paranormal fan. I highly recommend anything Ms. Walker writes.
