Amanda moved to Jamesville not only to be closer to her friends, but also to open a small specialty book store and begin a new life after her mentor passed away. Meeting Jonah was perfect, even though he only wanted an affair. Doing electrical work on Amanda’s house was going to allow Jonah to get closer to Amanda. But before he could put his plan in motion, an intruder threatens Amanda and Jonah has no problem with being her live-in protection. What began as an affair changes their lives forever.

Once again, this author has taken the reader back to Jamesville. As with all the books in this series, the characters are so real and likable that you can’t help but love the book. All the characters' experience events that could and would happen to all of us. Amanda hasn’t had a great childhood, yet she still ahs the personality traits I love in a heroine – compassionate, honest, caring, confident and secure enough in her own self to express her opinion and take an active role in her love life. Jonah’s past has made him distrust relationships, but with Amanda he feels something different. He has a strong assertive personality and that innate sense of honor that makes a perfect hero. Their relationship is written perfectly, starting with the initial attraction and progressing to the deeper feelings that lead to their happily ever after. The author does an excellent job of transferring their emotions to the reader, and I loved how she introduces another potential hero for a future Jamesville book. I can’t recommend this book enough, especially for the reader looking for real life events, light suspense and action, and most of all, a heartwarming happily ever after.
