Nikki, a gothic-dressing artist, was spending Valentine’s weekend in a backwoods cabin in northern California, because her roommate, Shaylee, and her boyfriend, Justin, wanted their shared apartment alone. That’s why Nikki ended up arriving at a small, remote cabin after midnight and why she was grabbed as she entered the living room. She was horrified that she would be raped and abandoned; she must have said something to catch his attention because she finally found out her attacker was Chase, Justin’s brother (who was the actual owner of the cabin). Since the snow had gotten so bad, Chase told her to stay overnight and leave the next morning.

Situation change: the next morning Chase found out Nikki was not Justin’s latest girlfriend, but the roommate of his girlfriend’s. That changed everything; it meant that Chase could act on his attraction to her. Their chemistry just got better and their relationship was actually intensifying until she heard him talking on the phone and heard him say “I love you.” She disappeared!

Cabin Fever is a really good story about falling in love while still not knowing enough about the other to make intelligent decusions. Ms. Shelli Stevens does a wonderful job of developing this plot in few words and in a manner to make it seem to just flow. I definitely did not stop until I read the very last word. Though Nikki and Chase are vastly different, they obviously had something special very quickly. Their sexual encounters were explosive and sensual. The book was exceptional and one worthy of your time. Kudos to Ms. Stevens for this winner!
