When Eve gets a package from her friend, she has no idea why it was sent to her. Usually her friend would let her know, but maybe it's a joke… until she opens up the crate and finds a large eagle in the cage. Now she really doesn't know what to think, especially when the bird turns into a man. She's a vampire and isn't scared of much, but in this case there has to be a reason a shifter would be locked in a cage like this and she's not about to find out why. Unfortunately, she seems to be very attracted to him and that's going to get her in trouble.

Logan can't believe he's so close to being free when his crate is opened and after 50 years of being locked in a cage. All he needs to do is convince the beautiful vampire who opened the crate to finish the job.

I liked this story, but it had a couple of things that puzzled me. I would have thought Logan would be a lot more damaged after spending 50 years in solitary confinement, and it seemed outrageous that his clan would turn on him based on a suspicion from his brother, who was known to be trouble (or so it seemed). The idea that he would forgive them for that so rapidly, as he seems to have done is also a little far fetched. Eve was a pretty smart cookie, and after having to fight for her place in vampire society for so long I was a little shocked she was so ready to set Logan free. All these things aside, it was a lovely story, Logan and Eve really seemed to care about each other after their rocky start, and it has non-stop action throughout to keep you on your toes. Talon: Caged Desire is a wonderful story that will keep me on the look out for more from its author Sydney Somers.
