| Palin is an "information broker" who has special physic powers he uses
to find things out for his customers. Palin's world is in the future,
and it is a brutal place, but he's managed to find a way to the top.
His world starts to change when finding information for a client; he
sees a man in his customer's mind that intrigues him. It's a "Vala" in
a pleasure palace, and for some reason he seems to be calling to Palin
in a subconscious way that he can't resist. Palin thinks that if he
just satisfies his curiosity about this man, he will be able to put
him from his mind. Once he sees him, though, he knows it's fate and
that he has to have him.
Tigre is bewildered when a man comes to the pleasure palace to buy him. His life at the pleasure palace is all he knows; all he's ever known. This man seems to want him, even though Tigre is known as a troublemaker and being hard to control. How long will the man keep him? I liked this story because it made me see both characters in a different light by the time the story was over. Palin starts out as man who could be perceived as weak to his clients because of his stutter and slight build, but manages to use it to his advantage. As you learn more about him you find that he's actually got a very strong personality, and that he's managed to survive against some pretty tall odds. Tigre's size and strength can intimidate people, but he's really looking for someone to take care of him. There is a lot of BDSM in this story, and it's not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary that really grabs your attention, Caged is definitely a book you should try.
