| Kyle is about to meet Meric, and he has so many intense feelings about the upcoming meeting, that he's gotten really nervous and considered not going. They met a long time ago as pen pals. Kyle had written to the magician and became very good friends with him. Over the years they continued to correspond, and things seem to have gotten much more intense to Kyle. His feelings for Meric are confused by a special ability Kyle has. One he suspects Meric has also. But if he brings up the subject, and Meric doesn't have the same ability as Kyle, he's bound to think Kyle's crazy and then give up on their friendship. What's a man to do?
I enjoyed this story. If it had been longer, I'd have been even happier. Not because it was too short but because I really liked both characters and wanted more. Sweet and believable, Michelle Houston has created heroes that are not only likable, but loveable as well. The world this author has created is one not too unfamiliar to many readers. Shifters are uncommon and feared -- if they are believed in at all. I admire the courage that Kyle shows in this story as much as I admire Meric's tenderness and understanding.
