Left with no other choice, Claresta goes to a local tavern in search of a man who might overlook her tarnished reputation due to the wealth she could offer him. She comes to the rescue of the perfect man while he is trying to explain his lack of funds to the owner. She doesn't believe his story any more than the owner but thinks that he will serve her purpose.

Drake Lockwood has just endured a tortuous voyage across the Atlantic to claim his title as the new Earl of Norwood. After leaving the ship, he kindly provides a meal for two young urchins and they return the favor by picking his pockets. Luckily, a beautiful young woman comes to his rescue. She pays the bill and gives Drake a ride to his solicitor's office where he finds that his identity papers have been stolen as well. He is now unable to claim his inheritance.

Having Mr. Lockwood indebted to her fits perfectly into Claresta's plan. She must convince him to marry her before tales of her antics scare him away. She thinks secrecy is the only way to do this. It could, however, drive him away before they understand the feelings they have for each other.

With CALAMITY CLARESTA, Ms. Estep has penned a hilarious, heart-warming story. Claresta has lots of mishaps thrown at her but remains a strong, determined woman. Drake is strong as well, a hero for Claresta would have to be. Both Drake and Claresta are loving and kind-hearted, so they are a perfect match. They don't share a great number of sex scenes, but when they do things get extremely hot. You don't want to miss this lovely tale.
